The LookA Poem by Doug OrdunioSomething written in 2005 about no one in particularThat languid faraway look she wore Like comfortable satin slippers I missed it most when she was gone
It would inhabit her face during lovemaking When she wasn’t staring deeply into my eyes As copious tears issued forth
Her body a warm pungent harbor With secretive docks and slips where I would spend the night Delighting in her flora and fauna
The look was everything Simultaneous distance and closeness Involved but aloof Inviting but fearful The desire to engulf totally © 2010 Doug Ordunio |
