My JourneyA Poem by S. BishopThe day I came into this world, blessed parents were mom and dad. Such promise they believed I possessed, no hardship should I have had. The last of my siblings I turned out to be, mischievous, with creative gaiety. No pains should I have felt, but rather enough innocence for which one's heart would melt. Odd young cherub some folks might say, that this child rather read then play. Queer lass other folks should think, a young lady detest all things pink. Never knowing what childhood was like, no carefree fantasies were to be had by this tyke. I grew up too fast, much too soon, trying to understand my constant saddness and gloom. An adult with much to learn about herself, eager to share philosophical wealth. Having live one-third of my life, wanting to be more than a mother, a wife. I embrace life ever so humbly, as I await the uncertainties of the journey before me. © 2010 S. Bishop |
