Character Study: Rose & Jack

A tiny drabble that expands a bit on Rose Brooks and Jack Grey's relationship and how they view themselves (created 3 years ago).

Rose Brooks looked out from the balcony. Her heart stinging with dark envy as her fiancé walked, chest puffed out, roses in his talented hands from his latest performance. His suit without a single crease, and his face smooth. His eyes relaxed and healthy, his smile blinding and perfect.

She deserved nothing less than failure.

Jack Grey charmingly smiled at his fans and fellow cast, hiding his fury at how his co-star fucked up (messed up, he'd remind himself, gentlemanly, he was) her line up. He felt a stab of pride at what he worked to reach, what he deserved. At that thought, cold anger flared as a broad, bright grin crossed his dashing face. He had a director to talk to.

He deserved nothing less than success.

It's never about her.
