Let me beA Poem by Isabella Dewynteri don't usually write poetry and this was inspired by my best friend. p.s. it's about shadowAlluring dark, A lightning spark, Once again in darkness, I reside, My light now redefined. Retreat now forbidding night, Defeated by the light. Light be one with me, Take me from darkness and make me free. It's from dark that I flee, So mote it be. This is my life, In all it's strife. I wish I could be, Neither light nor dark - but truly me. By the pale moonlight, my path lays clear, Though hermetic to others, obscure and convert. Guiding me onwards hallowed respite, A journey of hope to find balance and peace. My soul, I would purge of its darkness so dread. All I ask of this troublesome wearisome world, Is to relinquish this battleground both endless and stark, That is waged in my soul by the light and the dark. © 2016 Isabella Dewynter |
