Fade Away

 

What if I wanted to fade away,
would you bring color back into my life?
Paint me pictures of happiness,
take away all the heartache and strife.

What if I wanted to break away,
Would you be the glue that holds me together?
Wrap your arms tight around me,
hold onto me that way forever.

What if I wanted to fall away,
would you reach out your arms to catch me?
Stand me back up on my feet,
take my hand, walk beside me.

What if I wanted to fly away,
would you step aside and open the door?
Tell me to spread my wings,
say I love you, watch me soar.

What if I wanted to fade away,
could you stop the sun from setting?
Love me enough to hold up the horizon,
drive away the night to keep me from fading.

.......YOU - ARE - PHENOMENAL! What a poem! I'm a bit confused as to whether the last two lines of every stanza are supposed to be questions or commands (to be honest, they have more power and meaning if questions as well), but on the whole, this is poetry in motion, and you are going places if you decide to really go public with your work. It's definitely something to be proud of. Well done!
