i fail.</3

Not my best, but it sums things up. Also, my rhythm is s**t. Forgive me.

I watched you try to push me back,
pull apart our knot of limbs.
I tried to whisper the right words,
the ones to make you sin.

 

I fail.

 

I watch my phone blink green, then red,
but I still have no connection.
I try different paths of voice
and in that lost my discretion.

 

I fail.

 

I watch my message with bleary eyes,
then gasp when it says 'read'.
I try to wait for a response
but fall into my bed.

 

I fail.

 

I watch you write these angry words
that blame me for my failings.
I try to catch my balance but
I cannot reach the railings.

 

I fail.

 

I watch myself give up on you
and let the anguish swallow.
I try to ignore the pangs of hurt
and the temptation to wallow.

 

I fail.

 

We had five days, or maybe six,
of when I could call you mine.
But the law, your fear, and anger too
cut off our ticking time.

 

You blame me for my age, your moods,
the drama, this town, my home.
Oh love, if you don't watch yourself
you're going to die alone.

i like that this poem is about failing
when in reality this poem is a complete sucess
its simply amazing
