Standing Alone in the Dark

Standing Alone in the Dark

A Poem by 100 Times of War

As I stand in the rain
And shriek in torment
As my heart shatters
And drains from this body,
This lifeless, empty me.

You are my little Felldew
And I am your addict
One taste is like an eternal
Damnation, o, son of Jupiter

As Luna ships my soul
To the corners of twilight
And I drown in the monotony

As I shout out your name
And my words fade away
I stand alone in the dark
As the morning-star unveils
This lifeless, empty me.

Very powerful and beautiful wording. It reminds me a lot of some of the older literature (somewhat like John Donne's themes that I had to read in my AP English and Creative Writing classes in high school). Great references to "Jupiter" and "Luna", as well... it definitely adds to the piece. I think you have a great piece here!
