tell them i'm sorry

tell them i'm sorry

A Poem by highonwords

i want to ask how you are,
wherever you are now,
give you something good
to think about, my hand
on your shoulder, a kiss
wet with tears for hurting,
to hurt with you for nothing,
i won't ever say your name,
i will forget who i am,
but the girl who broke you,
who took some of your years,
not that i couldn't live
on my own, but that i could
live anyway without you,
when you said you couldn't
live without me, this -
i took aside, forgot you
ever lived, as i lived,
with the world, spinning
softly on my palms, this -
for who i was to you,
for not forgiving me
