i've listened well,
i'm still listening,
not only are your words,
alone, without you,
your heart has left you,
your words, you, your heart,
i listened to all of you,
no one made a sound,
the silence was all
that was needed to say
you've nothing to say,
it was all we needed,
to say goodbye,
without saying goodbye,
we were over each other,
in a way we won't know
what to say, if we ever,
without hope, meet again

this is one of your best newer poems -- it describes perfectly the leaving of love before the door is slammed.

everything else often leaves before the person physically moves out...

and when it happens this way, there is little to say if they meet again...conversation drained and strained.
