A Poem by highonwords

it's not about the fog,
the rain, or the cold
that gets into your bones,
or the fact that no one
cares where you are now,
not entirely true, but real
people are lost, thinking
where they should be,
before they knew where they are,
where they hopefully should be,
when they stop thinking,
start feeling for life,
that eludes them the way
they try not to be caught,
catching it, breathlessly

This is a beautiful poem. I really like the lines "but real / people are lost" - so many times we seem to forget that the people around us are actually real human beings, just like us, and that they have lives that are just as confusing, painful, intricate, and real as ours. The last five lines are also very thought-provoking, and I love how the last word of the poem is a repetition of the title. Nicely done!
