you can love a poet, you can love anyone, but you can't fall in love with anyone, who falls in love with everyone
but a poet is not made for anyone, not for you to fall in his arms, not for me to worship him, he is free to write about you, being naked from birth, but only, if you give yourself to him, not for his words alone, but for who he really is, he feels but only enough for others, less than how he feels for the world, which will not be enough for him, he burns out, too easily, too loud, too eeriely, there are no more poems to write, if he falls out of love with the world, hopelessly not just for anyone, but you
should we fall in love with anyone for their words alone??? while this is very possible, wouldn't it also have to be combined with the willingness to share a life together, to see the words come alive!!??
a poet or artist would be very shallow if they could only love in order to have materials to create...
art and poetry flows from every pore of life, our personal experiences yes, but also from the aesthetics of a rainbow, or the flight of a hummingbird, or the whisper breath of a new born as they sleep, or from the depth of manic depression dreams.. every aspect of life flows out of our pens, our music, our paintings... as humans we can not do other wise than communicate to each other everything around us... or as Oscar Wilde has put it.. "we all live in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars" and thankfully we write about it!! And isn't it "dangerous" to fall in love with anyone?? I mean to love someone truly is to give away your heart, face the possibility of being hurt..
speaking personally, was it that I wrote poetry that I can claim no one has or ever will love me??? just asking...
once again Steph, your words cause the brain to ponder what is a poet, what does poetry do?? and even should we love an artist/poet?? So are you saying you are dangerous Steph?? .. lol ;0) (just teasing you)

hehehehehehehehehe - thanks for the compliment, my friend :)
This is why we need vows- if we go along with every whim- what a dangerous life we have of falling in and out of love.
I really like- but for who he really is
very true.

thank you so much, abbi, for the wonderful comment and lovely visit :)
I can relate to that. I was often told I don't care about people as much as I do about writing, etc. Being in love with artists might be difficult, dangerous.

Good luck with that balance.
(Though I have to admit it'd be nice to be with an artist...;))

i all ready think i'm inspired enough, so i'll leave it at that :)
i have always thought poets were dangerous to fall in love with...the only constant relationship they have is with the muse...the writing is the first love...it's almost like taylor swift, who seemed to fall in and out of love just to have something to use for her songs...sounds cold, but poets often seem to feel the most in their poems...and love just enough in real life, in order to have inspiration....or maybe we just write because love eludes us in the end and we have too many ends.
