i wanted to read you,
as if you are words,
that i wouldn't know,
if you were only a face,
i wouldn't understand
what your eyes would say,
i know a few words
about you now i wouldn't know,
if i were not a poet,
i wouldn't know, myself,
if i couldn't write something
worthy of your face
