the consistency of your inconsistency,
is becoming consistent with my unbecoming
inconsistency, because you are inconsistent,

i used to love you for it, consistently,
but the inconsistency of your inconsistency,
drove me consistently up against the wall

it is all i consistently think about,
your inconsistency against my consistency,
until you became consistent, being inconsistent

that i became consistently silent,
you thought was just me, being consistent
but it is me, becoming consistently tired

of your inconsistency, love
is consistent,
when you are consistently consistent

The repetition of consistent and inconsistent are a form of hypnosis, which initially leaves the reader thinking of the first word and the latter. After the first read, I found my eyes paying attention to the clauses in between the two repeated words. The concept of this poem is executed very well. This piece would really have an effect on an audience, spoken a loud.

I think when they become consistently inconsistent, it is no longer "love" but a power play that must be fought consistently and with the consistent knocking them upside the head until they either leave in a consistently wobbly manner or have one of them consistent flashes of epiphany and see the light.. life is hard enough without these constant inconsistencies of ego posing as love.. sheeesh, makes you just want to find someone to hold hands with, say hi and maybe share a sunset with... oops kinda got lost there in the inconsistencies... no worries steph, i enjoy getting lost in a poem and not knowing where i will wind up at, just point me in the direction of the door..

and by the way, I only get lost in poems I really like and have touched me..

Steph, you should know that what I am really consistently consistent with when I comment on a poem is the consistent need somehow to put my foot in my mouth... so i will take comfort in knowing you said I was consistently right on point... ;0)
