please don't miss the tragedy, anymore

for my friend, suffering from depression and for all those, afflicted with the illness

do you miss the tragedy?
i found death in the room,
with you, i asked her to leave,
she said she'll be back for you,
the soonest next time, for me,
and i said, 'over my dead body',
which she understood to mean
her own death in the hands of love,
her own dismissal from angelicness
unfeeling, i will be death for you,
if that means you get to live,
that means i get to possibly live,
there in you, with you, always

There are resonances of Shakespeare in this piece.....
The effects of Tragedy and tragic circumstances on the soul of an individual.

Sometimes it gets to the point, where death seems like the only way out of the pain, the tragedy. So we dwell in that pain and hope for a way out of it.
A nice write, Steph. Read my poem "Abyss". We all get afflicted and bitten by the "black dog". It all depends on how deep the bite is, and what we do to overcome its infection on our soul.
Deep and meaningful, with elements of love and self sacrifice. Nice work.

sometimes people live for the tragedy...like Plath...they linger in depression, almost thrive on it...afraid the world might get too serene...and then what would they have to tremble about...it's like feeling the pain is the only real feeling...and it is hard to bring them out of this...they have to get there themselves....only they can get death to leave the room.

it is a very sad perspective/attitude towards life - since i can't bear to miss out on anything - learn from the pain - learn from the joy - don't want to get stuck on pain - life is beautiful, too, right? but to some people, these are just words, the meaning eludes them, being too much in pain - we could be there for others, they could be there for us, too - thank you, jacob
