just enough

just enough

A Poem by highonwords

for you, the idea of love
love stole completely from me,
i didn't want to tell you,
didn't even tell love in my heart,
that i knew, right from the first beat
to the last throb, before i sleep,
i didn't let sleep in my dreams,
for my dreams are all about you,
sleep, always taking me far away,
to a lower low of being alive,
where it is always evening,
windows closed, where i want
to look in, doors shut,
where i came to come in,
dreams are about other lovers,
i can't fall in love with again,
i press my face on the moon,
i'll wear its face tomorrow,
saying nothing, breathing you
giving just enough to make you
say nothing, enough to make you stay
