there is loneliness on the moon, about the way moonlight comes down, your way, the way your mind thinks of him, if ever you think of him, up there in the stars, starlight that freezes, diamonds, that fail to reach you, that fall down the mountains,
the twin-spired church waits, for your writing hand under his, a poet's matrimony, on world poetry day that will bless you with a poem, about the loneliness on the moon, when you try to marry pen and paper, you try to marry your muse, even if he loves you only on paper
The title makes this piece so much more magnificent. :) I love the line: when you try to marry pen and paper , you try to marry your muse even if he loves you only on paper.
Nicely done, very creative piece. Thank you for sharing.

i like the idea of this quite a bit...but the pronouns got distracting for me...
yes, there is loneliness on the moon and a part of it shines down on some of us, with a lonely light rather than one that is comforting----but the muse would be the one to marry...she is the most faithful...but maybe just living together is better...if we sign that piece of paper with a poem of marriage...she may stray.
i wanted both men and women readers to relate to the poem - that's why the pronouns - i will fix it .. read morei wanted both men and women readers to relate to the poem - that's why the pronouns - i will fix it - thank you so much for the wonderful visit and keen insight - but why would the muse every stray? - we control the muse, don't we?

i don't feel that i control the muse...i feel that i am a conduit...and when the words want to come,.. read morei don't feel that i control the muse...i feel that i am a conduit...and when the words want to come, they do...and i write them down...but i am quite unsure where most of what i write comes from...i think the muse has control, at least in my case.
so i just hope the muse doesn't write me a Dear John note someday...
