The Sound of God's Laughter

The Sound of God's Laughter

A Poem by highonwords

no one on these streets,
that i could look at,
and see the sunset with,
more possibly, to talk to
about everything, especially
about nothing, since time began
and death, no one's question
that can be answered,
only meant to be, to be free
of time and be born of love,
you and i would never be the same,
we will turn for the stars,
in unison with nature,
perhaps, i'll meet God, soon,
and drink coffee with Him,
He'll ask me what i think of you,
i promise to tell Him,
the good and the not-so-bad,
about you, and we'll laugh
like ordinary people do

"and we'll laugh like ordinary people do"----great line...
reminds me in this poem of Joan Osborne's "what if God was one of us"

i wonder how He would take His coffee...
