this is for my friend jason, who loves horses - eve, here, is the name of his horse

Adam, i will call you,
like him, whom Eve loved,
with her whole heart,
the way you love wild horses,
the way Eve loved you,
for your big, strong hands,
and dangerous eyes,
you knew how to touch her,
without bending her
to your will, you never did,
even if you could,
because you wouldn't,
you'd never love anything,
if you can't protect it,
place it on a mountain-top,
under a fickle moon,
you weren't fickle,
you were only faithful,
to your dreams for both of you,
to ride all the way,
rainbow to rainbow, to Zanzibar
with her - this was your dream,
when you last breathe the sweat
off her skin

Scary but filled with excitement. I know two gals who ride. I told them they must be brave a horse can kill you.

A very impressive poem, Steph. A lovely gesture, not required, but i thank you all the same.

A like very much the comparison of horse and rider to Adam and Eve. There is a very similar love between a man and his horse and the biblical pairing of the lovers of the Garden of Eden.

This is a very faithful interpretation of the thinking of the whisperer. Never bend. Never break. Just soothe and caress, and ride together into the wind.
A very well written piece.

man was created to tend to nature and all animals - i am happy that you look after horses with devotion - all creatures deserve respect and care - you're welcome, my friend :) should i change the title to 'the horse-whisperer', instead of 'adam'?
