rumors on 48th street say nothing about you, nothing that says the truth to me, didn't say something about the day you found you still have it in you, the mortality that gives us a glimpse of the cross we all have to bear, the face of peace etched on the man's face, the night he knelt on the church-pew, and begged for his conscience back, because he's beginning to know he has lost the power to feel, no one cares anymore if this is true, he could fall in love, he could kill just the same, feel nothing, every time they walk by him, he walks through them, giving them hope, the rumors could happen anytime, the fear, the indecision lingers, it gives them pleasure, that wolves and sheeps, both inhabit their place
Steph Wow I decided to read one of your latest writes first and this one is so powerful and what impact it carries. First the way you have maintained your structure here and the flow in this poem is amazing . I think this one just flowed from your pen, very few edits made after the draft was done... the no breaking of verses might very well be the proof. I love the metaphors used here. In this world where both wolves and sheep live together, this one is very universal and can interpreted in so many ways. For me this one read in three ways. How violence has destroyed many a family and so many precious lives lost in the senseless acts which those performing it find it very cool. There is also angle of corruption involved here, very subtle but it is present. The third way i interpreted felt like the inner demons and the virtues that lie within our own selves and how the conflict within happens.... Loved it. Thank you for sharing

it gets desperate for a man or woman when he or she could love or kill and would feel the same either way.
indecision that leads to ambivalence that leads to pure apathy....
and just a numb heart.
