A Poem by highonwords

no one is a sinner, to him,
bespectacled, zen as a jade,
a prayer, whispered, a hand,
almost held out, no alms,
just treasure hearts, afraid
of nothing but the lines,
that can't be read in-between,
that bend the mouth out of shape,
probes the heart, hard
he takes nothing but your life,
all of you remains, a shell
of who you are, behind,
no lights, just space and tunnels
all rooms, without corners,only skies
every 'if' of you, every 'but',
takes no more than the tip
of your weight, hangs, broken
no angels, no saints, nothing
only people, you and i, among them
