scrawl

scrawl

A Poem by highonwords

child's scrawl between blue lines,
a rainbow hovers before the rain
the moon and sun on the same sky,
skeletons of stars on yellow paper,
i see what became of mountains,
of people - just sloping lines,
just stick figures, the sea zigzags
to a flat-line; a menagerie
of a wild heart, that tornadoes
about my mind, white-fenced house,
as big as a button in a bottom-drawer

interesting piece here...i see how a child views the world, his or her own world...and how scary life is now...all of what seemed so perfect loses that perfection...there were pictures of the ideal...people, houses, life in general...and then there are only stick figures flat lining along with everything around us.

we might be headed there.

Some very vivid images in this one. The way a child sees the world is very different from the way the world actually is. Dreams seem to shrink as we mature. Well written. Lydi**
