the spinner of heartbreaks

the spinner of heartbreaks

A Poem by highonwords
"

needs some work - just practicing - would appreciate comments

"
you tear from the dark fabric
of my mind, drab with regrets,

sequined with falling stars,
you glide with the tassels

of aloneness, angling to hook
yourself between my button-eyes

you stuff me with cotton dreams,
red-lined me with the trace

of your fingers, but i am dyed blue
with defeat the moment you ripped

my heart with your teeth,
you cut me with scissored madness,

until there was nothing left.
but a pattern of a broken heart

This is extremely beautiful! You use imagery very well. "You stuff me with cotton dreams, red-lined with the trace of your fingers," WOW! The perfect summation of the promise of love that doesn't work out. You are very talented and I look forward to reading more.

I think you did a marvellous job using fabric and scissors to create a vivid image of a relationship cut to pieces - well done :)
