the photographer and his muse

the photographer and his muse

A Poem by highonwords

you shoot pictures
and let them fall

like leaves and animals,
by the wayside

of your imagination,
you picture me

on a park-bench,
waiting for you

on the flip-side
of your lens,

doves coo around
your feet,

as you twirl
on the streets,

spiraling
in rainbow rings,

hanging on hope,
riding each moment

to exhausted reverie
and miraculous surrender

and waiting,
always waiting

for the lights,
to turn on

for a drop
of heaven

fate might send
your narrow way

I could picture the photographer shooting photos of his model...swirling around with his camera to catch her in just the right light. Great imagery. I liked this one. Lydi*

I like this a lot, although I don't really relate it to a photographer. One thing, do you think perhaps "on" the wayside should be "by"? Of course, don't mind me if you like "on".

Figuratively speaking, I can relate this to my muse when I have a writer's block. Though I try to write something, still I can't make a good piece because of lack of inspiration. And still, as a writer, the hope that the muse will soon appear, is always there even after a hundred of sheets are crumpled, or hundred times that Microsoft Word is closed and opened.

Literally, this may refer to someone who wait and wait though there is no assurance that the person will come.

Nice presentation of your subject. Great!

the woman who will never show up...the muse who won't come...

and he takes pictures, pictures of emptiness....an empty park bench...an empty chair...
an empty chamber in the heart.
