love lonely

love lonely

A Poem by highonwords

Face buried in your lap,
wringing your hands from all the hurt,
and sobbing your pain away,
as if the tears could give you a new face,
that would light up in smiles
like the starlight behind your eyes
or the moonbeams that fringe your face
(I even found your loneliness, etched all over the walls)
Let me gather your broken body,
ramshackled by my waywardness
and their treachery
Let my voice steady the anchors of your breath
and build a promontory for your innocence
wasted away by the harsh, open seas
Let new bones spring from your body,
new skin festoon your dismantled bones
I will build a scaffold for your heart's repose
I will be the lighthouse that signals
and points your way home,
My hands will intertwine with yours
and we will reside in our hearts' hollows

this reminds me of someone with a shattered heart being lucky enough to find another who is sensitive to that...and becomes a place to reside in comfort and contentment...

to be that lighthouse for another---a way home.

beautiful write.

Most people see someone suffering
they mock
and ride a wave of feeling better about their at the expense of someone else
the optimum height of envy
here i see a soul that is noble
and filled with love
to carry her when you know she is shattered
that is the pure definition of beautiful
