The Gardener's Song

The Gardener's Song

A Poem by highonwords

Our I love you's litter the floor,
of our garden wedding,
If you could pluck the whitest rose,
worship again its fragrance,
before you could place it behind my left ear,
where I used to welcome the wake of your
delicate words, i know you would
If we could rearrange the sky,
for the moon to shine behind your face,
for the stars to fall on  my shoulders,
we know we would

There is a reprieve from
the sunset that glares on peaceful
lakes and abandoned towns
And now you laugh,
At my words
And I crawl upon the brilliant edifice
of your well-guarded fortress,
where your bleeding heart lies

B
A perfect work of art
Her bleeding heart is what you wanted to reach
and she lets you in
You are the healer

thank you, nisreen, for dropping by
A fine poem, especially like the first line, that forces the reader to be careful, then the conjunctive in L3 is exactly right, all combined with fine imagery. Well done.

thank you, leslie, for your words
if only we could replant the seed of love and have it grow again, like it once had flourished.
i see a love that has gone through many storms...and as a garden it is all disheveled and needs much care and reseeding to find that trust and passion once more.
