the journey of flowersA Poem by Mia Angeliyou kept taking things from me that weren't yours, you kept stealing words that weren't for you, you kept kissing lips who didn't belong to you. you left me empty. you made me believe we made each other complete, but you took everything from me. disguised it as love, disguised it as passion, and you left me empty. but the flowers grew back in me, stronger and prettier. they grew, watered by the tears, nourished by the pain, they still wear scars. but when i compare them to yours, i am proud, i am proud because i can water my own flowers, i can nourish them by my own. while you need to get my tears, while you need to get my pain. and so my flowers grew, stronger and prettier than yours will ever be. -mia angeli, the journey of flowers © 2017 Mia AngeliAuthor's Note
