the princess you couldn't save

the princess you couldn't save

A Poem by Mia Angeli

you dried her tear with your thumb,

your heart sank.

you wondered;

'why is the world so mean to her so kind heart?

all those tears falling,

all those sleepless nights,

why does she keep getting hurt?'

you wondered.

you dried another tear and whispered to her ear:

"it's okay baby,

i'm here, it's all fine.

but don't let go, alright?

don't let go, baby girl..."

and tonight,

sitting in the dark

the alcohol burning your throat,

the smoke blurring your view,

the memories hunting your brain,

the pain consuming your heart.

you wonder;

'why did she let go?'

- mia angeli, the princess you couldn't save

Oh my goodness! It was so short, but I felt like I felt a thousand things. Well done!
