And so it is with all artists, I think. It's probably just my odd-ness, but I've always been reluctant to claim any title, preferring, instead, that others do that for me. If others call you "poet", then you must be one.
That's what poetry is, to me. Needing to be heard. My poems are written for specific people, and are confusing to anyone else who reads them, usually. Yours are easily understood, though. You ARE a poet.
sometimes ten minutes produces a gem whilst months can be wasted trying to achieve the same effect.
poets write because they are compelled to do so driven by some inner urge I would say you earned the right to the title poet
