Sacred Duty

Sacred Duty

A Poem by Jay Ligda

Perhaps is was just an arrow
From that sneaky Cupid's bow
That draws man and woman
Beyond their control
It becomes a sacred duty
Together woman and man
To learn to love one another
And help each other grow

The cupid's arrow tends to draw out the love of each person, wrapping them in a quick passion. But once the wound that was left unattended is done releasing all that energy, it quickly takes ahold painfully. Plus all the passion has leaked out. My thoughts...

Very well done poem, nice flow.
