the earths soul

the earths soul

A Poem by R. P. Coke

jokers eyes

hardend place

I walk into outer space

meet the gas attendant there

and he sold me the earths soul

so now i walk as though i own it all

taking what i please and discarding the rest

someday you will find me with everything at my feet

there you will despise me for what i stole from the human race

i took it all everything and left nothing; not one damned stone in its place

i am the hell of humanity that blots out all the good thats done for my own grin

one day perhaps i will pay dearly but untill then i will have my way with this old world
