Norther

Norther

A Poem by zeitgeist
"

The city that trees built.

"
drove an hour North
to stick our feet in the androscoggin
hoping that river drowns us

trees have started to come back
they built a prison where it all started
lost train tracks
lost people

it only gets worse
stopped shy of the border
couldn't bring myself to go

i come back to the same barren landscape
the snow looks pure
that river is still flowing
