The Divine Of A Rose

The Divine Of A Rose

A Poem by Ryan Daniels

The sun shining bright

Showing from that height

The things that perish

Right in front of our sight.

Teaching detachment

And hold on to my inner light

To help with my next life.

This moment I need to grow

And taking this time to feed my soul

Asking to turn this seed into a rose

From the spring water that God holds.

A very typical Ryan Daniels poem if I may say so... A verse about enlightenment, elucidated by beautiful metaphors of the sun and the rose...
The first stanza reminded me of Gautama Buddha's philosophy of "Kshanabhangavada", i.e the ephemeral nature of all material things...
I loved the expression "feed the soul" and the lines that followed speaking of the journey from a "seed" to a "rose"...
Spiritual and splendidly so!
