Caught

Caught

A Poem by karina y
"

Inspired by a scene in the movie "Blue is the warmest color". If any of you guys watched it, try and figure out which scene this is from. If you haven't watched it, I say you're missing out!

"

Beat for beat, breath for breath,

you stand together in an unmoving air.

She can sense it, from the look in your churlish eyes

and you know.

There’s a loud roar of silence right before a strike.

She looks up at you, transparent liquid pours out

her eyes, her nose, her mouth. She isn’t looking for pity.

She weeps, words caught in a tangle of a bitter salty string,

striking back she throws herself at you,

it is as though she is begging you.

She is begging for the pain.

The pain that she has caused you,

oh but no, there is no way for you to return it.

For you no longer wish to see these eyes,

as they no longer glisten, they are dark, and they are spoiled.

And you strike once more, and she knows,

her lies aren’t welcome anymore.
