Vampires of the deep

Vampires of the deep

A Poem by Nicole

Darkness of the night.

Hungry eyes to behold.

Teeth to pierce the skin.

No soul to hold.

No heart to feel.

The love of feeling nonexistent.

Eyes that seem to look on forever.

Blend into the shadows.

The mist follows where ever they go.

Bodies slim, tough, and firm.

Hair in various colors and lengths.

Hunger in eyes and smile.

But no smile of fun.

Laughing never to be heard.

Love never to be seen.

Life is not to be.

Night is only friend.

Sun is worst enemy.

Darkness only light.

Nicely dark poem about vampires. You paint a very mysterious and not so nice picture of them which I like. Vampires shouldn't worry so much about taking human blood, they do need it to survive. Nice tight poem that was easy to read which is always a plus. The sentences where short and not complete but I think that worked very well with your poem, it only enhanced it.

Cool!

I don't know much about poetry, so don't take most of what I say to heart as I am sure that they're many others with much more experience at this then I do. Now that's aside, I liked the poem as I'm quite fond of vampires myself, I think it flowed nicely in the beginning but the flow broke apart at "The love of feeling nonexistent". At least that's where it did in my opinion. -Xardalas
