No Respect

No Respect

A Poem by Nicole

Death marches,

People moving,

Drums sounding,

Yells in the distance,

Empty heads,

Nowhere to run,

Fear is in the air,

And bulging eyes looking for hope.

Prison camps,

Long cold nights,

Bugs covering the flesh,

Lice all in the hair,

Starving for anything,

Cold buildings,

Staring eyes,

Thin clothes,

Old beds,

Smells of disease,

No friends of family,

And the doom of death.

Unreasonable conclusions,

Friends turn on you,

People ignore you,

Afraid to go anywhere,

Hope drips out of you,

Fear causing you to flee,

Are taken away from family,

Arrested for no reason but their own,

Forced into labor,

And dieing a slow death.

No Privileges,

Can’t go into restaurants,

Have your own bathrooms away from others,

Considered a criminal,

Glares thrown in your face,

Food is thrown at you in disgust,

You’re considered a disease,

People don’t talk to you,

Are pushed away into your own line,

Feel like your in last place,

And no one respects you.
