Never Again

Never Again

A Poem by Nicole

To never again see your laughing eyes.

To never hear your joyful bark.

To never again feel your rough tongue on my face.

To never again see you bound away.

To never again see your warm brown eyes.

To never again see your tail wag when we play.

To never again feel your smooth fur as I scratch you.

To never again see you there when I get home.

To never again watch you run through a surf on the beach.

To never again feel your warmth next to me while I sleep.

To never again see you play with Twitch like he was unique.

To never again see you jump as you greet.

To never again take a walk in the rain with you.

To never again race beat for beat.

To never again watch you as you nap.

To never again see you bathe in the sun.

To never again watch you take a bath in the pond.

To never again see you chase after a ball.

To never again watch you hop as you walk, like a kangaroo ready to talk.

To never again see you beg for some food, like you were wasting away like the mid-Summer moon.

To never again watch as you chase the cats to keep them on their feet.

To never again hear you bark to tell us someone is coming.

To never again feel your loving content.

To never again feel your love through the ages.

GOODBYE ERNIE!
