Blood

Blood

A Poem by Nicole

Blood

Its everywhere

Dark pools moving

On my hands

My skin

My hair

My clothes

I bend to look

My tongue flicks out to taste

I cringe

Not my blood

Not my life

A child’s life

Her blood

Her pain

Her suffering

The room is covered with it

It drips from the walls

The windows

The furniture

I try to rub off the blood

Too much to remove

Can’t escape it

Wish to be clean

But will never be clean

For the life I took

Her life.
