Labyrinth

Labyrinth

A Poem by Matt Shutler

Lost in a world of pain and deception, I search.
Trying to find a way to the light,
For the darkness is becoming too much.
The walls close in,
And the air grows thin.
Yet, a lone ray of light points the way.
Through the hells of life, I walk.
Anger dies and temptation fails,
As the light grows stronger.
Its luminous grace leads me out.
Out of the Dark,
And out of the maze.

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I like the way it flows. :)
I was on my high school newspaper staff and though I was never formally named as Editor (it was offered but I declined), I served as the features editor. I think my time on the staff actually helped shape my writing. It made me realize how much I HATE being told what to write and thus caused me to focus on my own unique style. I'm sure it's doing something similar for you because from what I've seen of your work, you're a very good writer. Happy writing to ya! :)

Always,
Thea
