Skin Deep

Skin Deep

A Poem by whiteNight
"

You know what? I'm tired of people assuming I don't know English. That I don't do well in school. I'm tired of teachers assuming I don't understand a concept as well as my peers. I'm so tired.

"
The colour of my skin
Doesn't determine what I do
Don't assume Im a delinquent
I'll make a fool out of you

My complexion or my race
Doesn't give you a right
To judge my future
Or determine my plight

I'll hack and shove
To fight till the end
The respect I deserve
I will not bend

So call me a beaner or a spic
Tell me what I can't do
I'll prove it wrong
I'll make a fool out of you.
