Escape.

Escape.

A Poem by whiteNight
"

Haha just a spontaneous poem. It really came out of nowhere o:

"
Rain pours fiercely tonight
Drops feeling like liquid ice
I look up at the broken sky
The dark surrounds like an onyx vice

I look around as I sit on a faded bench
2 AM on this cold spring night
This world is an unfixable mess
That simply can't be set right

I slowly rise to walk
Down the unforgiving street
Was that the sound of quiet thunder,
Or the crying echo of mans defeat?

I glance at the people I pass
A handful of minds scattered
When I look into their eyes; I shutter
I see their feeble souls are shattered

The only light is broken neon signs
They are the faded glowing heart
Of this forgotten city
All unreadable - cant be told apart

God, I only ask for one thing
Just for something to believe in
To forget the wrong I have done
To erase what I have been

Something to burn away this town- my town
And it's sorrows to the ground
But until the day I find it
To this infernal place I'm bound

A single hope to ignite my faith
To light this eternally dark world
To restore this city - my mind
To the iridescent mural it was before

A single, beautiful belief
That could erase this metropolis of mistake
That could maybe, maybe
Break my minds chains from this town
And be my final escape.
