A Letter From HeavenA Poem by Anthony Richard Andrews
Do not cry that my body has departed this world
but smile that I lived and was loved by so many you may close your eyes and pray that I come back or wait a while, and walk beside me in gods kingdom Your heart may be empty that you can no longer see me or it can be full of the memories we built together memories that nobody on earth can take away from you and be contempt in the knowledge that I cared. When I was suffering, you gave me strength you where a friend, when I needed one and even though I'm gone, think of me for in heaven, I will surely look down upon you and smile. You gave me love, that I shall always treasure look up into the night sky, and there you shall see me forever catching a watchful eye over you keeping you safe, protecting you from harm. I may not have had all the right words to say yet I said them with dignity, with pride I stood my ground for the things I believed in which included each of you sat here in this room my love will shine a light through the dark times my soul will make sure that you are never lonely my strength will give you someone to lean on my energy, will help you survive. So my friends, my loved ones, my family I thank you all for, all you have done and pray that you will remember me with smiles as I know, I shall remember you also. Although I am gone, think not of me as dead because I am in everything you see my spirit is everlasting in each of you and I know that we will be reunited eventually. Although they lay me down to rest think of me as sleeping, and that each night as you sleep, we will see each other and laugh like we always did. So as I walk through pastures new hand in hand with our lord, be strong for there will be no pain, no suffering and a smile will shine upon my face forever. © 2012 Anthony Richard Andrews |
