Rage

Rage

A Poem by Whitney

Rage against the dying world,

Rage against the light,

Rage against the sorrows that bar my heart from flight.

The morning left me winded,

The evening left me bare,

The night left me with nothing but a dark despair.

I heard my name on yonder,

And oh I tried to go,

But the rage made me want to stay deep and dark and low.

I tried to hold out hope,

I tried to show some love,

I looked to see if I could see their smiles from up above.

Maybe I was weakened,

My feigned strength went away,

I could not do anything but bow my head and pray.

I felt so all alone,

I tried hard not to cry,

But I was hurt so badly, why did I even try?

Rage against the dying world,

Rage against the light,

Rage against the soul that was lost that one fair night.
