Poisoned Soul

Poisoned Soul

A Poem by vigilantebastard

Poisoned Soul

The poison in my veins is flowing fast,

The more I take the less it lasts.

Familiar ghosts of future’s past,

Burning flags of half mast.

Vivid dreams of all the same,

My disorder said I’m sane.

There’s a sickness in my soul,

A personal relentless private Troll.

There’s a darkness in my heart,

Slowly tearing me apart.

Judgement looms, I know I’m prone.

I hope and pray that I’m welcomed home.

This is dark and vividly haunting.. clearly troubled by repeated paths with the same, insignificant outcomes.. lonely, painful, regretful, contemplative. “Burning flags of half mast” this is a good line.. you may not want to capitalize “Troll” since that just reminded me of that creepy movie and I think you’re being more generic here, but still invitingly dark writing.
