Lost

Lost

A Poem by Whispercherise

I walk through the maze my mind has become

falling deeper into the Labyrinth

Distant memories fill the darkness

Echoes of sadness thunder from unheard cries

The ghosts that once haunted me

have now become my guide

Unseen terrors veiled in a weak attempt

to protect my sanity

begin to play before me

I watch in horror

as each thought awakens another Demon

Distorted images manifest before me

reminiscent of a funhouse mirror

unable to recognize the person I fear I have become

As frightened as a lost child, I call out

only to have my pleas fall on deaf ears

Lost within myself

a casualty of self-destruction

Very good write! It was a little depressing but I tend to
like my reading on the darker side anyway.

Thanks for sharing.

Very interesting, indeed.

"the ghosts that once haunted me
have now become my guide"

Intriguing line, and insightful in its' manner. Letting the reader ponder and stew on what those ghosts are. It's amazingly honest though. Experience is like a walking cane for the blind.
