A sense of drowning

A sense of drowning

A Poem by fairy boy

Let me drown
so that I may reach
the water’s quiet floor

A surface of shifting,
tendril sand to rest
a lonely cheek

No, I don’t want
to breathe air
or ever make it back to shore

I have waded waves
for far too long
and it has made me weak

Cold embrace
though not so chilly
I think that I want more

In this space
going on and on
no one is my critique

Sometimes I
drift in and out
of  consciousness- I never had before

Shifted deep
into sleepy thoughts
just what is it do I seek?
