Rise

Rise

A Poem by Mywords
"

I'm accepting that I like to write, if I get writers blog I will just do what I always do, scribble .

"
Today I rise
I'm breaking free from my chains
I will strive and be triumphant
I am the survivor of my mind
I am free, no longer am I in captivity in my own mind
I'm silenced no more
I pick up my quill, in writing I'm speaking my mind
I will no longer be pushed to the back of the line
Victorious becomes my name
Ashamed and afraid my demons hide away
My golden quill my mighty sword
My paper my everlasting shield
My words my eternal life
I am freed my block is no more

Welcome to writerscafe. I think every writer can identify with this -- and hopefully find the freedom you suggest. I wonder what would happen if you chose images that are less common. Something else for instance than "breaking free from my chains." People have hammered that home to me many times. I don't know whether it's good advice or not, but I've tried to heed it and when I have, I do believe it has served me well.
