FreezeA Poem by HatakeSoul touching poetry contest entryA girl half hidden in dark whispers of shadow Her cloak, ragged and fraying strewn across the ground Once vibrant blonde locks now limp, like thirsting petals Faded blue eyes, empty and achingly hollow The wind howls along with her misery Her heart, her soul, her mind shattered There was a tall man and he was hers And while he was, she soared glowing in joy But then he vanished into the purple-black night not a trace left behind She knows blood was spilt It begins to rain; God is crying for the loss of one and the ruin of another And her limpid tears fall splashing like raindrops on the sodden grass Her limbs shake with cold Gleaming silver ice forms on tear-stained lashes She feels strikingly numb sitting against the alley wall When she closes her eyes she can see him in heaven I’m coming, she thinks and her thoughts fade to grey © 2016 Hatake |
