Lux LunaeA Poem by Justin LittlefieldIn homage to the satellite of lightO radiant maiden drifting there- the sable sea Whose countenance scowls, glaring fair melancholy What ivory guile casts your guise, watchful one Drowned in dusk, current clutches cold without sun Incite the tides, motivate the movement of love Emanating cosmic grace, you bless mortal realms. So that the darkness yields to lambencies above, Beam thine gleam supreme! So bright that it overwhelms! However, what you offer is not yours to give Not as the oceans cede to stream and nourish lakes Forevermore shall night’s profundities outlive As proof when crescents cease and blackness overtakes Though solar luminance sustains the life of us I look to thee for guidance through the tenebrous
