Where Angels Fear to Tread

Where Angels Fear to Tread

A Poem by Kelley
"

A deep sadness that some people never get over.

"
Sadness.... Pictures, Images and Photos

I've made my bed and now I'll sleep in it
People stare in anger
But who knows why
You roll the dice and live with what your dealt
Come in out of the rain they say
Big boys don't cry
But I've never felt so alone
Your OK is music to my ears
Lonely torched soul and two glass eyes
My heart longs to break
My footsteps mistake me for a saint
Come in closer, come in closer
I take off my mask for everyone to see
What do you see
My soul becomes useless and my words become sand
A real life script of how real life became our medicine
But you taught me how to live again
How do you tell a angel you don't believe in God
When your mother says you would be better off dead
But I still want to see you
So I drive to the edge of my inconsiderable pain
How am I suppose to breath
I dig up the thought of you
Can you pretend I'm amazing
Can you
Pull me in or let me drown
The truth becomes lethal now that our history is for sale
I don't want to be lonely anymore.

Oh wow.. so much emotion going on through this.. if written from reality .. lots can be said of the contents.. writing of a fallen angel.. scortched wings.. sooo deep I could feel this.. the part that touched me most was:

You roll the dice and live with what your dealt
Come in out of the rain they say
Big boys don't cry
But I've never felt so alone
Your OK is music to my ears

Sometimes people are dealt hard lives.. in the beginning we live what we are taught and many DO Not know the difference between right or wrong if in the wrong environments.. as they learn the right way.. the wrong still feels more like home.. that's the feel I get here.. then the realization that you want better and looking for someone special to pull you up and make you feel amazing.. and that very final reality that has hit like a wall.. not wanting to be lonely anymore.. I think many will relate to so much here.. as no matter what side of the fence you live on .. no one wants to be lonely.. thank you so much for sharing.... I hope you find that someone special who can help you realize your true desires and dreams!!! =)

Lovely imagery. There are some excellent parts to this poem, in particular I loved-
'How do you tell a angel you don't believe in God
When your mother says you would be better off dead'
Different to most of what I read here, though I don't know if I'm imagining the Blue October references. Keep writing.

This resonates deeply and your emotions pour out profusely in this piece.

"My soul becomes useless and my words become sand"

I'm not really sure why I'm so captivated by this line but it's beautiful

I've yet to find a place where an angel wouldn't tread. Though I hate to contradict your soulful, heart-baring piece. May be they will find you yet.

incredible and heartfelt piece, the transition line is brilliant, the context projects lonely suffering
with a dreaded sense of failing hope, and etheral perspective, excellent job.

Such sadness, so difficult to overcome, if not at times, almost seemingly impossible!! It's like being on the bottom of the barrel, and not having a way to reach to the top and be able to remove the lid of happiness!
Amazing write!........if one can just hold on.....a little longer, each day!!
