Fake friends

Fake friends

A Poem by whatrachelwrites
"

is anyone really your friend?

"
Pretend like you are interested in my life
call me a friend to your other acquaintances
pass me a knife to stab into my own back
watch me bleed
it will make for a good story
to tell at your next party
surrounded by people you don't really know
do you even know yourself?
please don't forget about your ego
it is almost as fake as you.

Fake friends are some of the worst people to have in your life, constantly questioning whether or not you could trust them, believe them. They cause you to second guess and move as if you were on eggshells. Much better to try and avoid them or learn how to identify and get them out of your life - easier said than done though! Good job!

I used to have a friend like this. Emphasis on "used to", until she stabbed me in the back and twisted the knife, now all she's asking for is a fight, as many poems as I've written, I wonder why I haven't written about my hatred for her. My ex-best fake friend. I loved this poems, very inspiring! 100/100

I know quite a few people like this.

This reminds me about something my father taught me when I was in high school after I was burned by a “friend”and it always stuck with me for the last hundred years or so...people you meet in school are acquaintances and aren’t friends until they are still around after. He wasn’t wrong now that I look back. Funny, I haven’t thought about that for years.... just my thought to a painful poem, good work of it, vent away

Fake friends are often not secure enough in who they are to be real and authentic. They struggle with selfishness, jealousy, and insecurities that keep them from being a true friend. You're reflective poetic 'observation' exqusitely highlights this issue, in a well written constructive way - great share - :-)

I like it! Well vented! I've been there many times. It sucks!
